Back with our trip experience, as we moved away from the buildings, and the incessant noise and stress of the city; we started connecting even more with nature, which made our senses and emotions run high after seeing the amazing frailejones.

Before getting to the Páramo, we had to lower the windows of the car slightly in order to acclimatize our bodies. Also, our bodies needed to adapt to the temperature of the height of the Páramo to avoid the famous Altitude Sickness ( See post about Altitude Sickness. )🥶.

On the road, we had the opportunity to make some stops to observe the different landscapes around Termales del Sifón such as the Laguna Negra; we also took the opportunity to get some groceries, and to take some photos in this place.

After having bought some groceries, and taking some photos, we continued with our trip to Termales del Sifón, until we reached the entrance to Nevado del Ruiz; where we took an unpaved road which leads to Murillo, Tolima. On the road to get the entrance to Termales del Sifón, we could observe amazing views of the rocky and mountainous landscape filled of Frailejones

After an hour of trip for the unpaved road, we reached a place called ‘'El Sifón'' where we found a little house which provided the service of store 🏬 (You will only find snacks). Once we got the house used as a store, we could supply groceries to bring to the trip. Additionally, the house also takes the register of the travelers who are going to access the Termales del Sifón.

TERMALES DEL SIFÓN’S ROUTES

From the little store 🏬 to Termales del Sifón, there is one kilometer approximately, which is in descent. The road is unpaved, and it is somewhat tough. For this same unpaved road, cars and motorcycles could descend normally, so you will not have to walk.

Once we got the Termales, we could enjoy its colorful, warm and relaxing waters. Besides, we could enjoy the majesty of nature, in this case, the Frailejones. As we enjoyed the hot springs, it made us unplug completely from the noise, and stress of the city during the time we stayed in these magical waters. After having unplugged from the stress, and having enjoyed a relaxing bath in this hot spring; we started our way back to Manizales where we arrived at 17:00.

RECOMMENDATIONS:

  • Wear tennis to walk along the river, since there are some sharp stones..
  • In the Termales del Sifón you could not find bathroom, in case you need it, you will have to go to the house where you paid the entrance (store)
  • The vehicles which are going to be in this place, the majority 4x4 tend to suffer a lot due to the quota of the jeep is complete.
  • ake into account that the Termales del Sifón closes at 15:00
