HIKING ROUTES VALLE DEL COCORA-FINCA LA MONTAÑA
To be able to arrive at this point, it is mandatory to cross the routes we mentioned above in order to continue with the tour in which an unpaved road is seen, and last but not least, you will find a farm that has an iconic view of Cerro del Quindío which is also title ‘’Cerro Morrogacho’’. This mountain is the highest mountain in the department of Quindío. If you want to know more about this mountain, you can take a look at the following post on our website Cerro Morro Gacho .

To get this farm from Cocora Valley, there is about 3,5 kilometers
HIKING ROUTES COCORA VALLEY-LA MONTAÑA FARM-HOUSE OF HUMMINGBIRD
After having crossed the previous viewpoints, and having reached a house called La Montaña, you will discover a bridle path full of sharp stones, which, once it starts raining, becomes dangerous due to the water that falls from the routes tending to come down quite strong. That is why, we strongly recommend you cross carefully throughout this area. Lastly, we recommend you bring comfortable boots, as they can get incredibly muddy after rain.
The route from the Cocora Valley to the House of hummingbirds is about 6 kilometers, in which you are going to find paths. So, to avoid loss during the tour, it is mandatory to follow the instructions provided by the local guides 😅.
For bird lovers, this is a great experience to enjoy the different bird species which come in multiple feeders, and you enjoy lovely views along with a drink and snack 🐦.
BACK TO HOUSE OF HUMMINGBIRDS
In order to head back to Cocora Valley, you should choose another route that is poorly marked, and, in some cases, tourists have to pass through the jungle for about another hour, crossing multiple rickety suspension bridges over the river. In some cases, the strong rains devastate those bridges; that is why, it is quite difficult to cross those rivers. So, we highly advise you to take those hiking routes with local, certified, and qualified guides who are more informed about the current condition of the routes.
CIRCLE MAP IN THE COCORA VALLEY
Now, we are going to display the circle route in the Cocora Valley, as we explained previously in the post. All the tourists will have to cross through: Viewpoints of Salento, La Montaña farm, House of the Hummingbirds, and finally, take a path where the river is crossed (several times), then, you will go out to almost the front of Cocora Valley.
